I once had a dream
Not of wondrous fantasies
Or of castles far away
But simple, powerful things
Of comfort.
Of warmth.
Just a single touch.
Just a single kiss.
There was no brave knight
No fiery dragon at bay
There was only you
But you were there to stay
Arms around me tight
Holding in a warm embrace
Being here with you
I can see it all coming true
But that was just a dream

How many times
Do we all forget
The meaning of life
Until we all regret

The times that passed
The moments we lost
We dwell on times forgotten
And count up the cost

What we did to others
Or others did to us
We seem to keep the score
And no one ends up the plus

Why must we look
Back in time at faults
Our life will still move on
For it never halts

So don’t look back
To try to fix things done
Don’t give up your life
You only have one

Take time for the simple things
Enjoy them while you can
Our lives will echo in eternity

The Wolf
The full moon shines bright
The stars sparkle like diamonds on a black canvas
Breaking through the night sky dark as velvet
Covering the earth like a blanket
Darkness and stillness remain
Then a sound pierces through the silence
As pure and true as the morning light
The howl of the wolf
His words true and beyond doubt
The night is nearly over, soon the morn will come

I look out my window and see the rain
Falling like teardrops from the sky above
I close my eyes and still I feel the pain
Clinging to me like a skin-tight glove
Though it happened so many years ago
I still remember it like yesterday
And on that dark day the world lost its glow
The blue sky was blackened by clouds of grey
But then the sun broke through the clouds so thick
Its warm rays dried the teardrops on my face
I now know that everything will soon click
God will always be there to be my base
No matter what I go through in my life
I remember that faith remains alive

Nightmare

Running—
Through the darkness
Away—
Far away from here
From where I’ve been
Stopped—Dead End
Pinned up against a wall
Dripping with sweat
No where to run
No where to hide
Darkness—
Closing in
Consuming me within
Eyes—
Breaking through the darkness
Golden and deadly
Filled with malice
Glaring into my soul
Talons—
Silver shining in the moonlight
Sharp as swords
Reaching for me
Closer and closer
Fear—
Consumes me
I’m reaching for someone
Crying for help
Screaming

WAKE UP!

My heart slowly paces
Sweat drips down my face

Darkness—

Stillness—

It was only a dream…

In this world we are surrounded
By hardships at every turn
Sometimes we can feel so grounded
Like no one can hear us yearn
But there is one who sees
Who will always be our rock
When we all drop to our knees
He is there to help us walk
And no matter what we are going through
He is always there to stay
By faith we look for something true
